    I used the remote, but the App is a good idea. I'm just not sure that you can turn the camera on with the app like you can with the remote. I just turn on the WiFi and don't power the camera on to save batteries. I'll have to experiment with the app. The other thing is it's much easier to hit the remote to start recording when a deer shows up than it would be to power on your phone, go to the app, then start the GoPro.

            it's even easier with the ap. Plus you can see what your camera sees on the phone. helps you to aim it much better. With the ap, you can also power the camera on/off, change settings on the fly. Cannot see live playback, but until you push the record button, you will see on the phone what the camera is looking at. I haven't used the remotes since I downloaded the ap. Can operate multiple cameras too.
