    Questions for TTHA...

As stated on the other thread, I will be interviewing Leroy Sisco in the near future for the LSBA magazine (and will post the article online as well) to ask him a few questions about TTHA as it relates to bowhunting. I assure you that the recent cartoon will be covered but it will not be the only issue I have a questions about.

I also want to ask him questions that directly represent what the bowhunters of Texas want to know about TTHA and Leroy Sisco after this event.

So, what do you guys want to know?

what ways does ttha support legislature and what charitable donations do they make to pro gun/ hunting organizations

Easy...why do they choose to divide hunting fractions within their backyard? And if it really bothers them, what specifically are they going to address on their side of the fence to rectify it.

      Thanks for doing this!

How are they preserving the future of hunting for the ordinary person, ie...us poor people!

Does he like gladiator movies, has he ever been to a Turkish Prison? I appreciate what your doing but the fact is this would have never taken place if not for this cartoon.

ASk him why TTHA magazine has only about 1/25th of their magazine directed toward bowhunters.

I am sure he/they will be well prepared for this interview/meeting since we are broadcasting our questions here. But anyway, here it goes for what it is worth!
            1. What is the mission statement of TTHA? Has it changed from the original charter?
            2. Do they acknowledge the fact that there reputation is perceived to be very elitist?
            3. What demographic/market segment do they pursue with thier marketing?
            4. What is the current membership nationwide?
            5. Going national with TTHA, what are the perceived changes, goals & mission?

I am sure I will have more questions before the gathering! Thanks for your persistence and defense of bowhunters in Texas.

Folks, I would keep in mind that TTHA is a business. Not a non profit organization that fights for hunter rights. It seems like some may not understand that. They owe nothing to anybody. It's a magazine (for profit) that has been marketed very well. One of their genius market successes is the play on membership vs subscription. Just a suggestion but keep this in mind when asking questions.

              Good questions Oscar.

Joey.... in all seriousness.... why do they hate on bow hunters..... is it because we get to hunt a month earlier? It would be to their benefit to promote bow hunting to increase their membership and sponsors.

Spur, it may be nothing more than fear...they fear bowhunters in general and know that we could make changes if we all come together as ONE.

I would like to know what they have ever done, or intend to do to better hunting opprotunities for all the residents of the state they were founded in. I would also like to know why they would try to expand themselves to a nationwide organization. Maybe they could do a survey of their members as to which method of hunting they prefer(gun/bow/both) so then maybe they would have a better understanding of how the demographics break down, and can customize accordingly. Thank you for taking the time to do this interview, and hopefully you will get real meaningful answers, not just a party line response.

I think this "play on membership versus subscription" is unethical in itself!
That is why one of my questions is "Did there charter change?" Other words was it organized as a 501C3 or always a for profit organization.
Very odd to mislead, confuse or suggest to folks like that!

Joey..now is your chance to share some of what I've shared privately with you...Spur, I'm sure you meant 1/5 as 5 out of 25 articles (recent avg.) is about 20%...although many have not seen recent issues or watched their TV show in the past several years, you may (or may not) be intersted to know that the FIRST THREE SHOWS OF THE NEW 2007 season are all bowhunting, and a good number of last year's shows were bowhunting. This is fact, not hearsay or conjecture or what happened 10 years ago...and before anyone suggests that the programming is in response to this cartoon situation, it was scheduled by Leroy and primarily Brian H. months ago....

This is the thread I'd like to see more contributions to now. In the mean time, I'll be thinking myself.
