We don't. My thought is that you know that is a breeding doe. There are others without yearlings. But nothing wrong with shooting them though.

Over the years I guess I developed some what of a soft spot.
I'm just not that mad at them any more.
          They get a pass.

I don't unless I can tell she is ancient. Did the last year and she had twins a buck and a doe. Just saw both of them today at the feeder and both are looking great

Freezer space also plays a big role in the decision on does

If I want a doe, I have no problem with it.

I had never thought about it that way. A doe with an obvious offspring of any age is definitely a breeder. A doe alone or with other "adult" does may or may not be fertile...good point.

I don't, but that's just how I've always done it.

Not really. Most does without fawns are breeders. They just lost them. Very seldom will a doe be infertile.

When it comes time for me to shoot does, I typically shoot the first one to turn broadside.

                              Well actually...really.

What I said is a doe with an offspring is a breeder. Which is true, always. A doe without an offspring with her may or may not be a breeder. Which is true as well.

I dont have the heart to do it. It bothers me when the fawn doesn't leave and watches as you load up the momma.
