It's easy to justify it in your minds I guess. Anybody can make an excuse to justify a wrong doing.

Integrity - doing the right thing, even when no one is looking or will notice.

The cashier didn't know it was mismarked. The right thing to do is pay the store what the store charges for the item, not what some stock person accidentally marked it as.

It wasn't a mistake, Academy marks stuff like that down all the time. If you scan things on sale before you take em to the register you can sometimes find things marked down to next to nothing. High quality rods, reels, lots of stuff . Its what they do to give customers a little gift for shopping there.

items that end in .88 will sometiimes be lower at checkout. I always run them by the scanner if its something I could possibly use.

I would explain, but few would read it or pay attention to the obvious. It wasn't that it was the wrong price in the system... it was the wrong tag on the item and it is as plain as day. You can ignore if you like... but it wasn't a good deal... it was a rip off; literally.

I have exceeded the post count for making a point, so that is all i am going to say about this.

If it was on clearance that's one thing. If they goofed on a tag, it's another.

We're all guided by our own set of morals and ethics. I have mine. Some people think it's ok to steal if that's the only way to feed their families, some people have a very strict moral code, and some people fall somewhere in the middle. And a few have none lol

I'm stunned at some of the responses here.

Simply ask yourself this....If I owned the store, how would I feel?

The issue here seems to be each individuals different life philosphy......"screw and get screwed" or "do unto others as you'd want done to you." One's karma and one's a biblical principle. You're not going to cheat either one.
