Then I thought, hmm this person made a mistake and if I kept it would that be right? Then I was reminded of Romans 8 (v. 5) “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.” You should seen the tears of that young gal that was so very thankful for her phone back due to her negligence. Sure wasn't my flesh that won that decision.

Not even close to the same situation, that would be stealing!!

If I find a phone, wallet, checkbook, credit card, etc. I will get it back to the owner. Keep the jacket and wear it with pride. Some of these guys are just mad cause they didn't find the same deal! Hahahahahahaha!
Exactly! I wonder if all these guys check there receipts at grocery stores to make sure they were charged exactly what the shelf price said. And how many actually go back to say they were undercharged even for a couple of cents. It was tagged and priced by the company and you paid for the product, nothing wrong IMO.

So finding a phone is stealing? And you are comparing cents on the dollar to a 240$ discount on a 280$ jacket? Good one...

I bought two game cameras for 9.99 that are originally 99.99. The store manager said his mistake and gave them to me for that price. No theft, you guys need to get a grip. Store made a mistake. . .they will live and die by there help. And Elkbowhunter, not even close in comparison. If you find $500 on the ground in an envelope, are going to keep it or search for the owner? An Iphone belongs to an individual and can be tracked down, the other is a mistake by a clerk in a store. The stores honor their mistakes, not even close to theft.

A few cents is different than a couple hundred dollars. Stores change retail in their system days before the shelf gets changed so that negates your argument.

Most likely some dishonest individual retagged this jacket for later purchase and our tbh member found it and probably didn't realize it was a game winner tag on the drake jacket.

If I had to guess all their clothes come with tags on them already.

Few weeks back I checked out at Academy and bought a set of Frogg Toggs for 14.99. I told the young lady that I didn't think that it was the correct price and she said "thats what it shows the price to be". See Ya!!!

It blows my mind that people rationalize theft by claiming it's the stores fault. And I'm betting it wasn't the stores fault.

well that worked out good for you. You talked to the store manager. I didnt know the OP did the same thing and talked to store manager about the extreme mismarked item. And how would one find the owner of 500 dollar cash in a busy shopping center? To each his own. Some think its ok take advantage of a mis marked item some do not.....next.

Didn't the OP find a jacket that was visibly mismarked in negligence. I found the phone that due to negligence could have kept it.(FINDERS KEEPERS?) To me it would be wrong to take advantage of someones negligence. I don't see the difference...we all have opinions.

I told them about tag issues when I got to the counter and they said don't worry about it. This was the manager speaking each time.
                          NOT TRUE FOR ME!

I had a knock down drag out over some flip flops marked 2.99 on the end cap then at check out they came to 15.00. I explained to the girl that I just picked these up 5 minutes ago and I went back to make sure and the sign was changed as well as all the merchandise in like 5 minutes. The guy before me they said bought 20 pairs or something and that is what triggered the change.

The manager was a very upset female and let me and my son know that she was not going to be taken advantage of. I explained that they were marked in gigantic letters and no one was taking advantage.

Needless to say I did not embarrass myself in front of my son.

My roommate in college bought a case of steel shot from accademy for the price of one box. The checker opened the case and scanned the bar code on a box of shells. He walked out with $180 worth of steel shot for $17. The only thing I could see wrong with it was that it didn't happen to me.

I bid jobs everyday. If I miss something it's my fault and the customer wins. I don't see the difference in this situation. Enjoy your jacket!
