Sick and tired of rebuilding feeders every year, who makes the best timer?

I'll try and keep this short, but I do need to vent a little bit too.

Ever since I started hunting deer seriously, I've had to fix something on my feeders seems like every year....for a while, it was every time I filled them. Over time, I figured out how to make them as close to varmint proof as you can get. My theory is, forget about cages, they won't mess with the timer box if they can get to the corn on the spinner....so I just feed them a little, coons and squirrels gotta eat too ya know. Anyway, I've gotten my boxes pretty tough, to the point where they are even hard for me to open and the varmints haven't messed with my stuff for the last year or so. This year, it looks more like 2-legged varmint damage. You may remember a thread I posted a while back about cedar choppers.....we'll they're gone, but apparently, when you complain to the landowner and he kicks them off, they vandalize your stuff. One feeder, a cheap one with the sliding cover on the side of the timer box, had the latch completely broken off and the cover plate gone. The other one, with a 50 cal ammo can for a box, had wires cut and yanked out of the connectors, lots of cutting and splicing to repair it, only to find out the timer is toast. To say I was ticked would be an understatement. I'm already running late getting things up and running this year, just been too busy with work this year, only to find out that all my stuff is broken. I'm going to have to rebuild them anyway, and replace at least one timer, so that brings me to the question:

What is the best, most robust feeder timer on the market? I don't need a ton of features, the deer don't really seem to come to the feeder in daylight anyway, but at least it keeps them on the property. I just need it to feed twice a day.

      Ever considered free choice feeding

Any good welding shop should be able to build you a close to bulletproof box out of 1/4" plate steel with a recessed lock box to keep all but the most determined vandals out...

^^^^ that is a good idea right there! Might be cheaper on the pocket book in the long run as well.

Triple C Feeders! We own 10 of them, a few of which are going on 15 years old with no problems!

We have had great luck with this unit from J & L Sales in Crossplains.

What ever timer unit you go with, I would highly suggest a good cage. I took a 55 gal barrel lid and fab'ed a cage so that the cage is as big as the lid... Screwed the lid to the bottom of my feeder (it's a square feeder that has a funnel below) and then attached the cage to the lid with a hinge and a retainer clip.

Not one problem in the two years it's been up from coons or porcupines.....or people either

The new moultree feeders have worked great for me. 6v battery will last all year.

Triple C .... I leave mine running all year around with or without corn. 6 years old havent fed corn since last February. Put 5 hundred pounds in yesterday hit the test button and whammo, corn went flying

Just had to replace 2 more of "the timer" Junk.

My all seasons timers are still going well.
