Thank y'all very much for the contribution. I am going to go to a local shop this week and see what they can do for me. I really appreciate it.

Go to a shop and get measured, but dont trust everything they tell you haha. I've found the BS is slightly less at an Archery Shop Vs a Gun Shop though haha.

When I started out I didnt know squat and didnt have anyone to teach me, so i was kinda going through it blindly. I bought a used bow that was set up at 31" DL. I went to a local shop and the guy measured me at 31". Ok cool, I shot it for a while but never felt right.

I went back to the same shop and talked to another guy about my form etc, and he asked my DL. I told him 31". He looked at me kinda funny and said "No way you're 31in". ( I'm 5'8" and a bit stocky). He said "Who told you you're 31in?" I pointed to the other guy and he kind of disappeared to the back of the shop haha.

Turns out I'm 28". Got it all sorted out after that haha

Whoa. A good inch or more off after correcting the release.

It was a tad hard to tell at the distance that pic was took but I was thinking the same. Looks atleast 1.5 inches to me.

Too long a draw length can lead to some pain....What's worse than slapping the inside of your forearm with your bow string...

Doing it the second time on the next shot!

Correct. I cringe every time I see the stiff, open fingers on a guy who swears they "don't grab the bow..."

                  REALLY?

Then why isn't that bow on the ground after you shoot? (and please don't tel me that braided bow sling is catching it. )

But for the OP - yes, it's a good 1.5" too long.

IMO, your left arm should be slightly bent.

I am of the opinion that eventually all of the nerves are rendered senseless. Slaps now don't hurt near as much as they did ten years ago.

When the string starts slapping my arm I know that I am tired.
