Most early dropped acorns are due to worms.

Not saying this is entirely true, but largely the case. Sure "good" ones are falling as well in some places

White Oak tree in the front yard is heavy with acorns. I think it's going to be a bumper crop again this year.

I've got a Water Oak in my yard that is loaded. It isn't dropping yet, but when it does it's like walking on ball bearings. Do the deer love, like or do they not like Water Oak acorns?
