On the family farm in MN we had a barn right next to one of our corn fields. There was a platform hanging off the side for a reason. That field was a hot spot. And if you were shooting a rifle, once it went bang, you'd see tons of deer jump up out of that field and run.

Thanks guys. I think I knew the answer as it came to me the other day. Started noticing lots of trails headed into the corn field. I see deer all over my small property, just none of them coming to the feeder for pics. The corn has been harvested, so I'm thinking I will start getting pics again. I guess it's good that he plants every year. It holds the deer in my area and can support lots of deer. Just wish I had more does.

I have seen where deer will even prefer one variety of corn over another. Back when I used to plant variety trials, I remember where you could tell that the deer went right down the rows of a certain variety and ignored the others.
Farmers also sometimes will plant an acre or two of sweet corn for the family. And the coons are real quick to find it.
