Deer eat corn on the cob (on the stalk)?

So, I've got 50 acres and my neighbor has about 2500-3000 acres, maybe more. The property is in NE Texas. During the summer, he grows corn and I see zero deer on my camera. Side note: he grows crops to feed his dairy cows.

Last year I saw tons of bucks on camera, but I put the camera out in Sept. I'm hoping they start showing pretty soon.

I know this may be a stupid question, but are the deer eating his corn on the stalk...and then hit my feeders after he's harvested?

They do it as often as they find it. Do a google image search of deer eating corn and you'll see pics of them with the while cob in there mouth and some just eating right off the stalk

Yup, them, hogs and coons all eat it off the stalk and pick up all they can off the ground after harvesting.

Once the ground is cleaned up, they'll start hitting the corn slinger and protein again. They corn slinger just can't compete as they see that corn crop as any other wild food source.

As stated above, yes. You might try a different type of feed or supplement to get them to come to your feeder until he harvest the corn. Rice Bran is awesome, but there are others they like as well.

Absolutely. Would you drink insant coffee from a can out in the middle of a street in your underwear when next door you can sip on freshly brewed coffee in the security of a house?
