There is so much stuff, it blows the mind

Everytime you walk into a retail store or a feed & farm store that sells Hunting stuff it blows the mind how much new gadgets, gear, attractants, etc. etc. etc. there are to lure hunters to buy these products and you always see on TBH how many of the products don't even work. And I always want to buy the latest attractant or gadget looking for that magic secret ingredient to pull in that big buck. And the stuff is so expensive. My wife always gets mad at me for spending money on hunting. She always says it is much cheaper to go to the store and buy meat. I always tell her that I enjoy the thrill of the hunt whether I get anything or not. I just love sitting out there enjoying the peace and watching nature and everything that God has given us and being thankful. Does anyone else go through this.

P.S. I have found that CORN is the cheapest way to go and it works most of the time.

Maybe you should take your wife hunting, when we go i consider it a camping trip with good camp food and relaxation around the fire at night, hunting is just something to do when we are there, you dont have to hunt if you dont feel like it but its as easy as jumping on my four wheeler and heading too a spot and hunt it, good luck sir, Keith

They're all cleverly marketed HUMAN attractants.

And we don't NEED any of it. I try to keep it simple myself. Don't get me wrong I did go through a "gadget and gemick" spell years ago. Threw it all in the trash. Heck it took me forever to go from fingers to a release.

I just go with corn. I've tried a few things over the years and nothing has ever worked. Last year it was Franks Doe Pee, had great reviews here, but I didn't have any more success with it. It actually spooked some of my does. I won't be buying anything else.

Yep. Lots of stuff attracting hunters.

I spend my money on binocs, game cams and boots.
Lucky for me, my wife and daughter like to kill deer
But I do own lots of scent free soap I buy post season At Walmart.

                  Sir,
Believe me I have tried and she is NOT interested. She likes to eat it and she prepares the meat any way possible and it is always awesome but she does not care to actually hunt.

The problem is how do you know what 3% actually works and is worth spending the money on?

I remember when I was a kid we used to just sit down next to a tree or get in a stand. There was no corn, bb2, acorn rage, rice bran, etc. etc. You just waited to see if a deer walked in front of you. Hunting is about being in the right place at the right time.

Our hunters show up with every new gadget as they come out, so we get to see their success (or more often, failures) before considering buying them ourselves. One thing I've learned over the years is that every new hunting gadget is good at the same thing...separating hunters from their money!

because the "3%" is always out of stock...

I used to be the gadget guy. I kicked that habit about 8 years ago. Nothing but essentials in my backpack now. Flashlight, camera, video camera, knife, TP, binos and a small first aid kit.

I don't buy anything anymore. I have a set of old camo overalls, a few short and long sleeve camo t-shirts and a pair of timberline boots from academy.
Been this way for at least 6-7 years. I my mind it's all gimmicky.

I used to buy all sorts of stuff but realized that Nothing really significantly made the hunt better than using nothing at all..............except the V..
