I put a Harris on mine. I also use it for my bolt guns too so paying $75 for it wasn't so bad.

so i was looking at one of these, pretty cheap, like the grip option, it was a tapco... basically just want to be able to have a steady rest for close shot out of blind.

Do you have a shelf to rest the bipod on in the blind? How high are your windows?

6" is about the shortest bipod that I know of and by the time you attach it, the bore will be 8-9" above the shelf.

All that being said, on a budget the Caldwell XLA bipods are pretty comparable to the Harris.

If you want a bipod, the Harris is as cheap as I would go. It is a quality unit. Do yourself a favor, and buy the Alpha Bravo extension arm for the swivel. You will be glad you did. Harris should include this, it makes thr bipod much more functional.

This is the bipod you want for prone shooting:

The Alpha Bravo swivel handle (you want one for each bipod, they are not easy to swap between): http://www.midwayusa.com/product/169...cm_vc=wishList

This is the bipod for shooting off a bench: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/155..._vc=OBv1155546

For shooting out of a blind window, you don't want a bipod. Too narrow of a ledge, and you can't turn if your target moves. Get a window rest, and be done with it:

The grip pod is a neat concept, but it is a flimsy piece of junk. I had one fail, just fooling around with it and shooting off of a picnic table. It went to the garbage.

I have tried a couple of other cheap bipods, and they are mediocre at best. The Caldwell bipods are affordable, but not very stable. I have one that I use just to hold my rifles upright when I'm cleaning or working on it.
