Vest are hot and annoying IMO. You can't go wrong with King Ranch or Filson. I have a King Ranch bag and above mentioned Browning bag and use the Browning bag more because it's a little more comfortable with a few extra pockets. I also just got a King Ranch shell pouch this past year and love it for trap shooting and might try it out on a quick afternoon hunt this year (prolly hold 5-6 birds stuffed full)

It's not as hot. Granted the meshed back variants aren't bad but layers are layers. Second I like having no weight or bulk around/on my shoulders/torso. I can swing more freely.

The sucky side is packing in your shells and out your birds. Get some birds in there and your walking around with a bag slapping you in the back of the legs. I carry a shell bag to where i'm setting up and just keep a box on me to keep from dragging my pants down.

              Trying this one this year:

Upland Gear is the maker of the Quail and Dove Caddy; made for quail and dove hunting. The hunting belt includes a game pouch, two shell bags and two water bottles.

I use the Filson mesh game bag. Works great and doesn't make you sweat your butt off.

Filson unfailing goods are made with the best materials and craftsmanship. Building a legacy of quality and durability since 1897.

I like the ones like Randy has since you can use them for any game, but I have to say you can wear them out if you do a lot of bird hunting and cross thru lots of fences.

They are tough, but not as tough as they were 20 or 30 years ago.

I've had this bag for about 6 years.

As said earlier, the quality is amazing.
