    Covert gurus, question?

I'm having trouble with my covert black ops. It has a signal, 3 bars. I've installed the external antennae as well. It's been taking pictures fairly reliably, but I def don't get all the pics it takes? I could txt The #500 code to it and it would take a pic, then it seemed to keep a signal and send pics for a couple hours. I changed the batteries on tues, and have gotten very few pics, and the camera doesn't respond when I txt the code to snap a pic, but I will get 2-3 random deer pics a day? Is it just the signal going in and out? Cell signal on phones are good in the area as well? It's near my house, it's not way out in the middle of nowhere?
    Any ideas?

I have the same issue in Erath County. I get random pics of the wind blowing during the day and then just a few pics as the deer are feeding.

The resolution is not as good as I would like for it to be also.

I know there are some patches on their website.

I guess these things just aren't perfect but better than driving 1 hour to get the pics from the camera.

Very common. I've had two of them for 2+ years. Some days the remote commands work, other days they don't. Both of mine have yagi antennas attached, which are directional antennas aimed at the nearest towers. It's just unpredictable. It's newer technology, but I have a feeling we are going to see major improvements in cellular enabled cameras over the next few years.

Same issue here. Mine seems to quit when it gets hot.

I am noticing a lack of pics till about 10-11 pm. Like daddio said that might be when it cools down . But I have 2 of them out and only one doesn't send them till late. The other one starts when I have it programmed to start. They are only 1 mile apart.
Picture quality straight from the cam to your phone is grainy. They say when you get them from your SD card it very clear. I haven't changed out card s yet.

May be one of your settings you may have it set up where it only sends so many pics in a day or at certain times

Mine are turned off from 8:00 am till 7:30 pm and unlimited pics. They really start coming in at 1:30. I know the deer are there at 8:15 that's when the feeder goes off. Last Monday I was sitting in the gun blind 175 yards away watching them and getting no pictures. I left at dark with 5 deer in the pin and no text. On the way home at 10:30 I started getting text.

It's gotta be your signal... Also I would just turn off all your setting where it takes pics all day all mine are setup that way an never had these issues

I had an issue with mine till I figured out that SD cards had gotten switched between the two cameras. Reformatted them for camera they were in and no issues in last couple weeks since.

I had this happen with mine. At first I was always wondering if something was there or just curious and sending #500 to see. Half the time I got no response or wasn't consistent and battery life sucked. I turned off the sms and quit worrying about it. Battery life now is 10x better and you can't walk by it without getting a txt. I think with the sms on the camera is busy refreshing the signal or trying to take a pic and things get lost. Mine right now is bugging the crap out of me with young bucks.

If I turn the SMS off, will it still email me pics?
