That was 1/2 the reason I was stopped. His other 1/2 was because he "thought" my window tint was too dark.

I believe this to be true. My Bro is a state trooper and he says that a person with a CHL is generally considered a good guy.

This however is not the case in Lowsyanna! if you have Texas tags LA Leo will make up a reason!

Why would they make up a reason. We have reciprocity with them.

I have let many CHL holders off with verbal warning.
I have also let many non holders off with verbal warning.
I have written tickets to CHL holders.
To me, CHL is not a get out of jail free card.
If I stop you for 20 over and you have a long laundry list of traffic convictions, you're probably getting a ticket from me regardless of CHL status.
I probably write warnings 3 to 1 over tickets. If I feel a person will get the message with a warning, that's what they get.
If they've had a dozen speeding tickets in the past, its obvious that a warning is not gonna do much to change their actions. A ticket may not either, but if they want to continue to break the law, they can pay the price.
Regarding front LP - 4 years ago the legislature re-arranged some portions of the traffic code. The violation for not displaying a front LP was still in the law, but they forgot to include the punishment for the violation, so most departments did not enforce the law. In 2012, the punishment was added back in. Always been the law, just that now its enforceable again.
Oh, and we have tint meters too.

I've had to fight a Chl holder on the side of the road, so my mind is never eased until I'm done with my stop. However, As long as you show me as much respect as I show you I don't write you tickets.

You would be amazed at some of the people who have a CHL though. Kinda scary sometimes

Like I said Ive never seen a tint meter so there never was/is any point in me stopping for it. Plenty easy to find something else to stop for

It has nothing to do with reciprocity. It has to do with tagging out of state plates, maybe out of some sense of interlopers intruding on their state.

I had a deputy stop me one day and he got out cussing and slammed his ticket book on the road. He was yelling about being in his state speeding and if I had gone another half mile then the speed limit would have dropped another 10mph and I would have been "reckless driving" and could have put me in jail and had a good mind to do so anyway. I was going 63 in a 55 zone.

Apparently some "over there" don't like Texas.

I have talked to some state troopers about having a pistol in your dash while your driving even though I'm under 21, everyone has told me that it is fine to have it there as long as I am away from home, any guys have any suggestions on this??

"In" as in inside of something and not visible (your dash comments are confusing me)? You are good to go legally. On the dash or anywhere else that is visible is UCW.

Who am I kidding, with the new rules set out by the bossman patrolmen dont have time to run traffic anyway

Sorry, I'm talking about not visible, Leo's told me that they don't want to see it.

They don't want to see it because being hidden is a requirement of the law and it might cause them to do some paperwork if it is visible.
