Some people are even putting guns on them for remotely shooting stuff. Oh yeah, there will be more laws for them.

Why stop. Google drone and see what comes up, pictures of all these that are on here. Yeah, they're drones.

So if Google can find it, you'll insert it in your vocabulary? Try deer horns.

Pick a better analogy if you want to make your argument.

Definitions for drone that I have found in online dictionaries:

Any unmanned aircraft or ship that is guided remotely: a radio-controlled drone.

An unmanned aircraft or ship guided by remote control or onboard computers.

A remote-controlled pilotless aircraft or missile.

Yep, they sure look like drones to me.

Can it carry much weight? Can it be used to take bait out past the breaking waves? Just cuurious....

I've made this point elsewhere but will state it here again. I'm not saying you can't squeeze these into the definition of "drone."

What I'm saying is you're going to wish you hadn't called these drones in 5 years when they're made illegal for civ use because the public has been scared into what's possible with them. I'm saying I think it's important to distinguish these toys from the weaponized drones we use in battle.

I'm saying the ignorant public is going to end up using the term "drone" just like they use the term "assault rifle."

That's as clear as I can make my point.

I hear you about the public. I suspect that what we call it won't matter much in the future after reading a few drone threads in this forum.

Last year dji did 125 million. This year they are on track to hit 400 million. I think they are here to stay.

I like drones and assault rifles though.

Have fun with your new toy! Be careful with the NAZA flight control in the DJI series, they are plenty of documented fly aways! MANY people have lost their $1000+ toys because of the faulty flight controllers. Good luck and ENJOY it!
