I reckon that what most folks do. I put them on myself but most shops will install whatever you have on the bow. my buddy is shooting some of john's threads on his wrath, pretty sick craftsmanship on them. the best I've seen.

I'd do it, but don't have a way to press the bow.

I agree; go with Korbin, great guy and a good price for quality handmade strings and cables.

I watch for fuzzing, serving seperation, cam timing issues, etc. I had a nearly new Korbin string that the serving started to seperate where it contacted the cam. I pulled it off and reserved it. No need for a new string because there wasn't a problem with the strands, just the serving. I now build my own strings and have had good luck with them. Just watch your string and your bow and you will know when it is time for a new string.

When I play a lot it is nothing to put a thousand arrows a month through a bow.
I have more problems with keeping fletchings on arrows than I do with string wear. Replacing targets gets expensive, too. I threw away four of them two weeks ago.

No more than you are shooting, Your string should last for many years.

two of the four sets he has built me have been long on the cables, they required too many twists in them to set the cam starting rotation for a new set of strings imo. they have worked just fine and held up very well but i thought i would throw that out there.

                    just something to think about.

I was wondering about that. Strings look to be in good shape. Just don't know their lifespan.

They usually last right up till the weekend before opening day. Then you're sweating trying to find a string at the last minute.

                          Yep

I have two bows and one on the way. I have Johns and Korbins on the ones at home and no problems with either of them and both look great. The new one coming has stage 1.

look at ABB platinum string/cable sets. guaranteed no peep rotation, no shoot in time, and no serving separation. they are great string/cable sets and have heard great reviews on them both by hunters and 3D shooters. My E32 will be getting a set before long

I had my last bow 9 years and never changed the string...I always check for it fraying or showing some bad signs, Never did!
I don't shoot thousands of arrows either! I might shoot 200 shots a year.
