I had a similar issue and it was actual a racquet ball sized ulcer I had developed. Might be worth going to see a doc. Mine started out with my stomach being upset then developed into terrible sharp cramping pain that put me in the hospital for a day.

for reference I dip a can of Copenhagen a day.

Same thing happened to me and I took my last dip that day. October 06, 2010 was my last dip and was one of the best choices I made. The first two weeks was the hardest for me personally. Good luck on quitting and hang in there.

Your doctor lied. Lol. Every now and then I still crave one and it's been 12 years. An I hear the same from coworkers who've gone much longer. I know one cig or dip would quickly take me back to where I was.

I quit January 26th of this year because I found out my mom had cancer.

That's the same day I quit. I woke up the morning of the Super Bowl and just decided I didn't want to do it anymore. I have had a few since then but that's it. It's not something I crave anymore, I don't have to have it. Cheers on our success!

just keep on taking strides on the snuff and drinking bud, you will get there...I too struggle with snuff I can quit for months at a time and every year I get out in the field for dove season and break down and go back at it but one day I will get it licked

I dipped for almost 20 years. (since I was 12). I quit 3 years ago. I miss it almost everyday. First only one kind of snuff made me nauseuous but being hard headed I just switched brands. Eventually it all did it to me. Now I can barely smell it without getting sick. Quitting snuff ain't easy, quitting cigarettes was easier, but it can be done. As long as someone pushed me to quit I wouldn't do it, so I had to make the decision on my own. If you decide to quit, good for you and I wish you all the luck in the world. If you are like me you will backslide quite a few times but keep strong and know that it can be done! GOOD LUCK!!!

When I was 6 years old, I was riding out to the farm with my dad. He needed to move some pipe and other things. He dipped Copenhagen then. I asked him if I could have some, so he gave me a dip. It was about a 10 mile trip. He kept offering me his spit cup, but I was gonna be a man and not spit. After 10 miles worth of swallowing everything, we got to the farm. I got out of the pickup with my head spinning and feeling like I was gonna puke. I didn't, but I spit everything out, drank some water and laid down in the seat of the pickup while Dad went to work. He woke me up a few hours later when we pulled into the driveway at home.

I never dipped again. I chewed Red Man some in high school and college, but just the smell of Copenhagen still turns my stomach to this day.

I get what you're saying man. My previous posts wasn't meant to be a put down or in any way negative. It was meant to let people viewing know that there may be another variable. I have had my own struggle with certain addiction (anorexia being one of them) and I know exactly how hard it is to overcome a vice. I meant no disrespect in any way.
