April 12 2013 was my last dip. Miss it every single day. But glad I did. My personal experience is dip is harder to quit than cigarettes. Carry on

It made me green the first two times I tried and haven't tried it since.

          with you Chef.

for me i have noticed that it changes batch to batch.... (the date stamp) I buy 5 can rolls at a time. some go smooth and then a roll will cause heartburn or sour stomach..... (since they changed the "good till date" stamp)

I think the quality control has changed over the last two years... but i also think it's not as fine of a cut as it used to be also

could be different supplier (fields) or something? current date stamp "sell by July 27" seems to be smooth and non troublesome. the roll before bad heartburn.

no I'm not drinking (but i do)

          thinking more into this...

anxiety and stress will cause a lot more acid to develop in the stomach, which could be the culprit for the sour stomach when adding the acid from the Cope.

Hope you are able to quit. It assisted in the deaths of my grandfather and an uncle. Gave them both throat cancer.

Coming from an alcoholic this post did not help nor did it show what tbh is about. Support this man in his decisions I have been an alcoholic for many years and it's not an overnight thing the op didn't ask about drinking in this post so don't add to it. Support him and answer the question asked and yes I see you were not the first one to bring it up but you ( guessing your not an alcoholic) wouldn't last a mile in his shoes so please help him and don't put him down that's what this site is built on. And I'm not trying to be an a**

I quit in 2009 my doctor said it takes 10 yrs for the urges of nicotine to wear off. It's true. But worth the fight.

I've tried to quit several times. Patches, meds, candy..... Nothing worked. With the new employer I am on a new "program", with this one it's actual smokeless users that are coaches. Our first goal was to eliminate my first dip of the day. 4-5 days a week that is getting my first dip at 6 when I get up at 415 to go workout.
I'm doing that about 70% of the time.

At least I'm trying!!! Thanks for the help guys!!!

And it's not the drinking. 4 beers a week hasn't caused this...

Good luck and keep at it. I moved to pouches before i quit and it helped..I noticed getting nauseated at times as well. .body can only handle so much...i take in alot of caffeine too and that will happen...i have to taper back some and it helps.

Nothing makes you a quitter faster than a cancer scare and crying family members

Chef I started having the same thing happen to me in the last year of my dipping. I dipped long cut wintergreen for 7 years before I kicked it. As far as what causes that feeling I'm not sure. Maybe it's our body saying enough if enough. My kids were the main reason I quit, I just used that nauseating feeling as a sign to take that step. I can tell you it is the hardest tobacco habit to quit. I've been quit since January 2011 and I still to this day reach for my can from time to time. There is times I think I could start back today like I never quit. Don't know if it helps but you got my support if you decide to quit dipping buddy.

I quit Feb11 of this year, the day my mom was diagnosed with bladder cancer from smoking.(Weird) it's the best decision I ever made. I also use the smoky mountain chew, but it still isn't the same.

Chef, whatever you do we support you. You've made great strides so far, don't push it. Maybe your body is simply saying that it doesn't like tobacco any more, and if so you can quit more easily. I too quit Skoal long cut wintergreen about 7 years ago after a 20 year habit. As hard as it is, it is very do-able. Maybe talk to your doc about it. Stay strong my friend.
