How to get rid of chiggers??

These things are eating my family up? I keep everything mowed down and have tried some spectrazide? granules and sulphur pellets. I can't tell that anything works. What suggestions do y'all have? Is there a certain time of year to treat them?

I use the spectrazide that you hook to your water hose. Works everytime

Mix Malathion 50/50 and Liquid Seven. A few ounces each in a spray bottle and cover the yard. Kills chiggers, Mosquitos and any other bug and their larva for about 7 -14 days if it doesn't rain. The yard will smell for a day or so from the Malathion. It's safe for pets.

I hate chiggers! Could you specify a few ounces of each to how much water?

You need to read up on chigger bites. You are not killing anything. The chigger is long gone by the time you start itching.

While one may think the nail polish works, it is a myth. Google it.

I would offer this help go to this link open it select “Search by Pest” enter Chigger in this case and be astounded at the different Approved products. http://www.kellysolutions.com/ok/pesticideindex.htm

Anyone can use this link it offers information that Pest Control companies use when a question is brought up for what Pest is needing control with what chemical. Remembering grass- weeds- bugs of all kinds all are considered Pest to someone. Hope this helps.

Not sure about your yard but a bath with some bleach in it helps to soothe the itching!

Wear less clothing. I only wear flip flops, tee shirt, shorts( I go cammando... Maybe TMI) but I never get chiggers. This is my deer lease work attire also. They bite when they get into restricted areas that are sweaty and clammy.

                              Then shower.
Sulphur powder prior to going outside might help
