Are you looking to keep the rod strung for the entire drive or just in transit while fishing?

Might be able to use a NEMA box enclosure, add a conduit (either thread or slip/glued)

        No clue on that piece.

I'd think you could make some similar with PVC pipe, a couple reducers and a large threaded coupler with a plug. The large threaded coupler would be big enough for the reel.

That almost looks like some kind of valve lock out device.

I am betting that is something custom molded for that particular company that makes the holder.
You might figure out the company and see if they would sell replacement parts

I am sure you could come up with something that would work

If it's threaded, I'd say clean out. If not, I'd say coupling

You probably want some foam padding in the inside. Driving down the road your rod and reel have a good chance of getting scratched / rubbed with some abrasion. A 4 piece rod can be pulled apart in 2 pieces fully strung with a fly attached and set in a hook holder or eye. It keeps the dust off on most of the remote gravel/dirt roads. Literally takes about 5 seconds to rejoin the sections.

A cool looking tube. I wonder how much heat builds up in travel tubes like that and degradation of your fly line?

                    Another with offset fittings.

Looks like a delivery box used in air delivery systems, we had them at a few of our ready mix plants.

Decided to go ahead and make mine. This is what I came up with. Stores reel as well as rods. The fittings are schedule 40 so it makes it a bit heavier than I want but for its pra tical application just protecting my rod and reel when I'm traveling I think it will work out just fine. Will still have to figure out something a little bit lighter if I'm going to take an eight or nine mile hike up in the mountains to fish a trout stream. Hinged the lid for easy access, reel fits in the lid with foam, then on the very top of the screw out cap leaves room to store a couple of your favorite flies. Everything you need for a quick little getaway.
