Either one of these will do what you want without an issue. They are both Articulating models but one is more compact than the other and is designed to be driven from the basket. Ideally, a 40' or 60' Straight boom would be the best(IMO). Then you could just go straight up a tree once positioned and simply rotate to the nearest tree and trim that one too on the way down.
I too am in the business and seen a lot over the last 8 years. Just a few pointers, please don't tie anything off to the basket or boom arm(like lowering a cut limb or trunk), get a real safety harness and use it(please), have your phone and store/mechanic/on call person's contact info with you in the basket and finally, know the ground you will be traversing upon.
I can't rent any diesel booms to cash customers and therefore we use the towables. They work the same and self level easily via outrigger with the push of a button. They can be moved on the ground by engaging the drives on the wheels and you can walk alongside the unit to reposition when needed.
Be wary of the weight of the bigger self drive units as they are really heavy and not many truck mounted winches will pull one out if it's buried to the axle. I have seen them stuck like chuck and stay on rent until they could be retrieved. I have also seen the effects of driving a 40' boom over a septic tank, while not wearing a safety harness, think medieval catapult.
Well we rented the trailer unit, and glad we did because it rained pretty hard Saturday. I can say for sure, I'm glad I don't trim trees for a living, and cutting limbs 40 to 50 foot up is dang scary! !!!!!!
