I also would vote for just about any Scott release.

I'm confused by your question. "Getting out of bowhunting"?!?!? Were you going to have a blood transfusion? =D

Not a thing wrong with any releases mentioned, but the Cobra Pro caliper with leather buckle strap is as good a release as you'll ever need.
I have three that I have adjusted to be identical in length and they have lasted and performed pefectly for over 15 years. All I've had to do was replace straps.
They sell for under $35 and at that price, you can get an additional one for a backup, and stay within your budget.

                        Scott all the way.

I've shot my Itty-bitty goose release for many years with no problems. What makes it different and better than most others, is the release 'head' is attached by a rope to the wrist band. You can adjust it to be exactly where you want it, but more importantly, not being on a rod or rigid connector, it will move out the way easily if you want to put you hand in you pocket to get something. I've tucked it in when I had to climb over blown-down trees and needed my right hand to grab branches for balance, since my compound was in my left. Other style releases I've shot always seemed to get in the way like that.
