Doesn't surprise me. Been a lot of hype from the "all natural" crowd without a lot of science to back it up. I'd like to see a comparison to venison.

It,s good to see updated research and was a good read.

The pro grass fed crowd champions grass fed at the micronutrient level. Grass fed is richer in B-vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol), vitamin K, and trace minerals like magnesium, calcium, and selenium.

Either way, pro or con, a 5 week study may not truly reveal positives or negatives of either choice but it does make me hungry!

You're missing the point of why people typically like grass fed beef. The health benefits come from not eating an animal that was fed genetically mutated grain along with the use of pesticides on that grain. Now I eat both without worrying too much but that is the real advantage people see in the grass fed vs. the grain feed. Along with taste.

I don't disagree with why they think its better just not sure it actually is.

Do you have any evidence that there are adverse health affects associated when a human bieng consumes beef from a steer or heifer that consumed genetically modified grain?

I prefer grass fed over grain or corn. Cows weren't designed to eat corn...the only thing that does to them is makes them extremely fat, very fast. it's a healthier cow you're eating when it's low/no stress environment from birth to slaughter (grass/free range)...including the slaughter process is more improved with lower stress then the big corn fed pens.

same thing goes with chicken. And as for me, I prefer (don't always get to do it) the grass fed for those reasons.

Yes. Its called common sense. Do you really think what Monsanto and DuPont have done to our food chain is a good thing? Just look at what is happening to the Bee Colonies across the World. We have serious problems if bees are a thing of the past. Don't get me wrong I eat both grain and grass fed beef but to act like the crops we are growing and feeding our livestock and ourselves doesn't or wont have an effect on us is putting your head in the sand.

Everything wrong with American agriculture would correct itself if they did away with the subsidies, but that'll never happen

I had some ground bison the other day from Costco. It's flavor beat any ground beef I've had. Not sure what it ate.
