Had to throw it out. Wood I was using came from a tree that had been fertilized.... I'll use mulch next time

Yep, if I can't grow it myself then this is my second choice. Still beats store bought by a mile.

              BIG Language Warning!!!

Do not watch if you don't want to hear bad language (or have your organic myths busted)!

^^^ basically people love the words all-natural, organic, hormone free, grass-fed and local. It makes them feel better, healthier or whatever else they want to tell theirselves. It's all about selling product. Most consumers don't actually research they just believe what they hear and/or are told. I'm OK with this, just don't try to argue your "point" with me.

X2 for me. Grass fed tastes like I'm in the front yard eating straight grass. I don't like it.

Agreed. People don't reasearch the full food chain before making a decision or purchase. That short-sighted logic also applies to other purchases they make. The same goes with being offended by wages for laborers in India or China, but refusing to pay more at Wa-Mart.

Been asked often about the chickens I've raised is "are they cage-free, free-range, organic, and all natural?" My explanation... no cages, the wander and eat bugs, but sleep in a coop at night unless they're too stupid to make it back to the coop and roost elsewhere. Organic... well they're organisms, who eat feed, bugs, and table scraps, including chicken. Chickens love cooked chicken.

Home-raised beef does taste the best in my opinion.

I can't tell much difference in the ground beef but the grain fed steaks are almost a good as lamb chops on the grill.

My neighbor buys wild caught hogs and sells them as ORGANIC hog meat. Nevermind they probably live in oil well mud, eat other dead animals and typically anything that doesn't eat them first out in the woods-- they are organic because no human ever injected them with antibiotics. Yum!

As for me, organic, grass fed, all of that is a trend right now and I try to not let buzz words change the way I eat. I eat what I eat. Some of these grass fed cows are being grazed on fertilized grass land and fed hay that has protein content double of grain. I find the further a person was raised away from the farm the more bull**** they will believe.
