Ran across this fella the other day walking down a deer stand trail...pretty large for a Coral snake...red & yellow kill a fellow! What a lot of people don't know is that their mouth is so small they would literally have to get your pinky finger in their mouth and naw on it to actually envenomate you. They are also rear fanged compared to front fanged like most venomous snakes! From what I was told they are also getting more and more rare to see in Texas, I'm not sure if they are considered endangered but I don't think they are.
coral snakes arent rear fanged...they have to cgew cauae they have these itty bitty front fangs and it helps them getthe venom into ya!! front fanged they are.

How did you come to that decision? They all look like cm to me. Are you just going off of coloration because the center is darker?

To the OP, without heads, I would go with cotton mouth on all 3

I think you're probably right, but there isn't any distinct marking on the left one I can definitively say it is. The ridged back makes me think so, but I can't see any of the belly. The two on the right positively are.

If one of them was, then the other 2 are guilty by association. Looks like the sentence was carried out.

I love it when these things swallow a small catfish that locks it's pec fins and chokes the snake to death.

Looks like a mixture but hard to be certain without the heads. All of them will clean your fish out.

I consider myself pretty schooled at almost 50 years of outdoor romping. But this is a new one to me. Thanks for that tip!

Another nifty way is to look at the belly scales towards the end of the snake's tail. There is a special scale called the **** plate, or vent. The scales from the vent to the end of the tail will change depending on whether it is venomous or not.

If the scales are divided, then the snake is non-venomous. If the scales are singular, the snake is venomous.

Remember it this way: Non-venomous is two words- so the snake has two scales. Venomous is one word- so the snake has one scale. The chart below shows belly scales from vent to end of tail.
                      Which one is venomous?
