I'll start off by saying I don't need one but I would like get an Ak 47 I've shot one once or twice but no real experience with them. What make/model would y'all suggest? Budget isn't really an issue but would prefer to not spend an insane amount. Thanks

An AK was designed like a Glock although Block has extreme quality and accuracy. An AK was destined to be abused and go bang every time. An AR is your accurate platform, an AK will still do a 3" group at 100 yards. Cheaper ammo than AR, now about $0.20+ for bulk. It is a lot heavier to lug 500 rounds at 122gr versus 55gr.
You can get fancy and expensive but when you are shooting cheap Commie rounds why have an elaborate base, spend that on a quality AR.

Do NOT spend a ton of money on one. Yes, some of them do go for $1200. That is sheer stupidity. Some of the best ones ever made were built with no more than $20.00 in parts and were built with dissident labor.
Yes you can have one "accurized" and made to look Tacti-Cool, but at the end of the day, it's still a $300 rifle.
I know others will chime in with all the rails/lights etc, that's not what I mean. The action, rifle etc $300-$500, and $500 is being generous for what they are actually worth, even with all the "craze" non-sense.
