I hired a 18 year old high school kid. His grandpa has him pretty trained up with the tractor, so if he shows up on time I should be in good shape.

I would have preferred a girl. They are much more detailed about what they do and for the most part not as hard on equipment.

I just never knew you couldn't t hire a 16 year old anymore.

Can I apply? I'm of age and will work cheap if the BBQ is good and the water is cold. Just have EMS standing by in case, in my old age, I fall off the tractor

Good luck to ya. I hope it works out. I told my son maybe in two more years when he turns 18. He's mad at the State of Texas now for saying he can't run a tractor. Ha Ha Oh well, I hope they don't catch him on the old Massey on my land.

33000 children are seriously injured and over 100 are killed every year operating farm equipment.
            Just sayings.

What exactly was your point? I don't consider a 16-18 year old country boy a "child" but a young working man. No I wouldn,t expect a 10 year old to run a tractor, but kids get hurt everyday. Your post it just weird. You can't wrap kids in a bubble wrap. Boys will be boys! IMO

Where did this figure come from? Seems like a lot to me.

I grew up on the family cattle farm where when you got big enough to do it, (sometimes before) you did it. Period.

It amazes me just how few young people these days even know how to work, to be honest.

                            Ok
Anyone here knows Buff is a great guy
He will do any thing he can to put a hunter on an animal he has on his property
This hunter was an idiot this weekend but he still did his best
I watch him and his lovely wife work until they almost dropped
So I think there is enough people here that can help this great man out
We all grew up at a different time when we respected the equipment we worked with
So instead of debateing the right age lets get this man what he needs to get done
Buff thank you and your lovely wife a great weekend
