Best bacon?

I am not a big fan of the peppered bacon. A local meat market makes it and I have tried the HEB stuff. I have also had most Central Market bacons.

I heard HEB owns Central market. So, they may be the same bacon?

If you can get to a whole foods get the stuff from their meat market by the lbs.

Also, go to whole foods in full camo with blood all over from a good hunt.... Especially in Austin. Lots of good attention from the hippies!

I use Bum's peppered bacon when I want bacon wrapped shrimp! I don't really eat the peppered bacon by itself

I prefer the applewood smoked flavor Wright out of the butcher counter but it is tough to find.

Not sure about your neck of the woods but my HEB sells it at the deli counter. It's not on display, you have to ask for it.

Back when I was in FFA we would sell some hat was labeled Black and Gold I think, that was the best I ever had! My folks would always buy a ton of it and freeze it. Man I loved that bacon, hopefully when my oldest kids come up they will still sell that.....

I remember this to and it was dang good. Sold hundreds of boxes and parents bought a bunch for us to eat. I had forgot about that.

Petit Jean bacon is pretty dang good. They're in Arkansas, we get it when we visit my uncle and always bring some back.
