Be real careful pulling those plugs, if they break you will not be a happy camper.

I've pulled thousands of plugs with an impact and never broken a single one. I don't know how they keep breaking for everyone else unless they are really old plugs

Because ford decided in 2004 I think it was to start using two piece spark plugs so they always break when you try to pull em

If you pull the plugs and break one I have the removal tool for it. I'm in Allen as well so don't go buy one. Your welcome to use mine.

Touche. My Ford is a diesel and I work on cat 3600s with large plugs

Don't pull the plugs yet and never with an impact or you will be using helicoils. Crank up the truck and one by one unplug the injectors listen to the engine and see which cylinder doesn't change the way it runs. That will be the bad cylinder and most likely a bad coil. They're pretty simple to replace good luck

The plugs in that truck will not break. It's the 04-08 that are problematic.

Another quick test you can do with long screwdriver: start the engine, the place the tip of the screwdriver against the injector housing, then place your ear against the handle of the screwdriver and listen for a rapid clicking sound as it pulses. No clicking means bad injector or circuitry.

edit: can also use an arrow shaft, for the hard to reach spots.

Mine has gone through 4-5 coil packs ran like crap and not enough power to get up to speed.

Well, it wasn't the 02 sensor. Every time I've had a coil pack go out, I've gotten misfire codes. Not getting them, just bank 1 too rich. I also think that a vacum leak causes a lean condition not rich. I'm going to get the gages to check both vacum and fuel pressure and check both of them this evening. Spark plugs are the one piece, so breaking them doesn't happen.

Don't do this, you will take a chance on blowing the coil driver in the computer and that will not make you happy. That is the old way of testing, with a computer you will have to cut the cyl out one at a time with a scanner that can handle a cyl balance test.

My bad you said injectors, I just reread your post.

Same with my 05 Ranger V6... recently replaced the coil pack. Runs like a champ again.

And was barely a 1 beer job.

A coil pack should give you a misfire code. I'm not getting one. Been there done that.
