    Hog question

Last year, I had hogs upon hogs to kill on my property. During deer season, I move my feeder into a fence with a food plot in it that will not allow the hogs in.

Fast forward to Jan this year. I move my feeder back out to allow the hogs to come back in so I have something to hunt year round.

Not a single hog on camera yet.....

The only thing that has changed this year is I now have a dog. This dog comes down to check the feeder once a week and pull the memory card.

Is the scent of this dog keeping the hogs away? (people hog dog alot around me)

Its the only thing I can think.

I know I know, most of you are thinking this is a good thing but I enjoy hunting them all year.

Seems far fetched to think they would stay away because of a scent once a week but who knows.

Forget about the hogs. That dog's worth a million bucks!

They just moved from the area. It's a matter of time. The dog won't keep them away from food. They will return. Do you have a water source nearby that hogs have access to?

Yes, water on and around property.

Yeah it is just strange, went from 20 hogs at a time on camera to nothing.

Same thing happened last fall at my son's lease. Covered up with them the year before then hardly any during the season.

                  They Will Be Back!

Don't worry, dog or not they will be back.

Over the next 10 years they will be encroaching most Texas cities.

Hope they make it back soon, my Bear is getting tired of just looking at my carpet target!!

I killed so many last year and was able to spread the wealth of surplus meat I had, would like to do the same again this year.

How did you train your dog to pull memory card and check feeder? Will he also fill feeders. Really interested I would like to train mine as well. Any info appreciated thanks. Also does he drive and does he get carded info you send him on a beer run?

hahahaha, re-read the way I typed it and it does appear the dog is checking the camera...
