Enjoy and be safe. Take pics of people with jackets on, to remind us how cool it is somewhere else.

You will have trouble finding someone with a coat during the day, its plenty hot up here, not Texas hot, but warm enough. If you get up to the higher elevations you will find plenty of snow, around top of the world there are still drifts over twenty feet deep. Top of the world is between Red Lodge and Cooke City if your traveling around Cody these are both cool little towns. If you need any ideas of places to check out give me a holler i'm only 100 miles north and can point you in the right direction. 406-670-9002

835 miles later. We made it as far as Colby Kansas. Took almost 14 hours from Austin.

We're going to Cabelas in Sydney Nebraska on Tuesday.

We might make it to Chadron for the night.

After that down into the Black Hills to see JB and some guns.

The rest of the itinerary looks like this.

              Devils tower,

              Cody,

              in and around Yellowstone,

              Tetons,

              Jackson,

scout Moon lake area in Utah for a possible Elk hunt,

all around Colorado then the long way down to Silver City NM for a steak at the Buckhorn Saloon in Pinos Altos,

              then back to Austin.

All in less than 13 days.

Be sure to bring your fly rods, plenty of great fly fishing near Cody. I've been fishing in Alaska last week. Head home tomorrow and then off to Cody for fly fishing next week (I leave for Cody on the 15th). I'll have extra rods with me. PM or e-mail me if you will still be up there and want to get together for some fishing

X2. I loved the Black Hills, Rushmore, Crazy Horse....wish we could've made it to Devil's Tower.

I am in Park City, UT right now. It sure is beautiful, but I have not seen any animals yet.

I have been to the Cabelas in Sydney, NE. I almost took a job out of college in their corporate office.

I have a few Bamboo fly rods that I swore I'd bring with me this time and I left them in the corner.

I had planned to try them out in Utah.

I'll keep my eye out for a garage sale or pawn shop along the way.

Thanks for the invite for Cody Dieter but we'll be gone by then.

Where will you go to fly fish around Cody?

We saw a nice size bear out of Cook City three years ago. I got a slap and dirty look when I said he looked just right for a rug!

I'll look up Red Lodge. We a senic bypass out of Cook city and we're trying to get that way again this weekend.
