Best Cafe in Texas

I always like a good "Best of..." thread so here goes...

In my opinion, ANY cafe is better than fast food or corporate box eatery. My vote for the best cafe in Texas is the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. Awesome breakfasts, pies so good yu have to close your eyes after every bite, and some of the best chicken fried steak team on the planet earth.

Nothing says "Texas" like a small town cafe!

Marlene's, Graham
Kerbey Lane (big city cafe,) Austin

My vote is for the Coffee Cup in Hico, Tx. Great homemade food and pies just like Dave was talking about at the Bluebonnet. Also, while we are on the pie thing, the Texan Cafe in Hutto has great pies and food too.

The bowling alley in Blanco is hard to beat for home cooking. Their chicken fried steak is the best I have ever had.

The bowling alley in Blanco is definitly one of the best.......The Texas Cafe in Ballinger is awesome as well........

I've eaten at the Bluebonnet a couple of times and had good meals each time. I can't find a good cafe around me but there is a place in Burnett I think it's called Highland inn that has a good buffet and the best bread pudding I have ever eaten.

Yeah drove through Hico back in May on my way to Inks Lake, Noticed they took the Ks out of the spelling.....
Hard to beat Marlene's but It's different if You try the Corral in Coleman, best burgers and rings I've ever stuffed in my mouth, Just don't care for their tea, tastes like Instant.
What about the Chicken Fried Steak at Goodson's in Tomball? Or for Mexican food, Jorge's in Aledo......

Sorry but i have to say Mary's in Strawn IS NOT A TOP CAFE IN TEXAS!
Maybe I have just lived too close to it for too long but its not that good! Now marleens in Graham is GOOD!!!!!!!! Ill give it a vote
Coffee Cup in Hico Is good too!!
Woodys in Mineral wells makes one of the best burgers ANYWHERE!!!!!

place up north of Decatur called The Armadillo Grill. it's in a convenience store, western wear shop, gas station -- and they serve a pretty decent breakfast. they might take the title just on their name!

barbara alans cafe in sweetwater. you caneat till you never want to see food again for the same price as a normal meal and its oh so good. mmmmmm may have to make a road trip
