I've purchased 3 Rangers over the last handful of years.
To be honest, you can drive around all over the place, but most dealers pretty much have a set MSRP and don't negotiate much off of it. Definitely keep an eye out for any rebates offered by the manufacturer.
They also all will have a BS freight and assembly charge, which is in addition to the vehicle price. If you are a serious buyer, they may knock this charge off or reduce it considerably. This fee can be anywhere from $500-$1,000 and that's the area with the most room.
I've also found that to close a deal, some dealers will cut you a very good deal on accessories, like a winch or metal roof. This is another negotiating angle you can take if you plan on buying these items aftermarket anyways.
The best prices I got were all on drive-out cash offers. However, you better be ready to put your money where your mouth is. Sometimes, the best deal a dealership can offer you will not stand beyond that day.

When I went to buy mine a few years ago, the local dealer here in the valley was a total jackwagon with no people skills and when he wouldn't budge on the price, he said that they had to sell it @ the MSRP, I told him that the "S" in MSRP stood for SUGGESTED. He told me well we don't have to lower the price, I don't have to we can't keep them on the lot. I just said Ok, thankyou I will look else where and I did. I went and bought it at Tuttle motors in Poteet, they gave me a little bit of a price break, but they also treated me a whole lot nicer.
Hoffpauir in Goldthwaite has the best prices I have seen advertised.
