Some very good advise and something I had never thought about... "Cedar" ...

        Thanks y'all!

          scent concealment/elimination...

Play the wind if you can, but in many areas in West Texas that is impossible. You can't eliminate scent just reduce it. Reduce it as much as you can and hope you can trick them. We reduce and then hunt from boxes to contain what we can. Cedar is in every one of my blinds and clothes boxes.

There are several folks on here that smoke their clothes with great success. I'm not sure if grilled ribeye mixed in that counts as good cover scent though. . I'd smoke them separately

Again, play the wind if you can but if you hunt where the deer come from every direction and different directions every day, you might as well be ****ing in that wind trying to play it.

I've put alfalfa in my bags before. Strong scent to it.

I use carbon ( what you would use for a fish that you can buy at walmart) place in sock or pantyhose. Pour in ph or sock tie the end and throw in wherever you keep your clothes. Seems to work for me. The carbon supposedly adsorbs all the scent from your clothing.

^^ Probably the best and most simple advice in this thread...wind being most important. Also, if you use some kind of scent killer spray, use it on your string release. That sweat from your wrist smells!

I have heard of people putting their hunting clothes in empty corn sacks for storage.

If the wanna itch to death... why not put them in wheat sacks? that'll make you itch enough to kill yourself sooner

Smoking your clothes is the cheapest, longest lasting and oldest form of scent control period. Research it.

It's amazing how you run into all types of animals when you're not hunting...

I wash clothes in scent free detergent and I use the scent free soap and deodorant. Then I make sure and stand by the fire for a while before I head to the stand. Last year I played around with smoking (tobacco) while bowhunting and I had phenomenal results. I never smoked in the stand before, ever, and one day I decided to try it while some does where headed in from down wind. I lit one up and blew smoke out of my pop up and it went directly to them. They didn't even stop when it got to them at 10 yards away. I just kept on smoking and then leaned over and grabbed my pistol and shot one. I do not encourage you to start smoking but smoke definitely works and apparently it doesn't really matter what type of smoke. lol
