Alfalfa and chaffee. Hoochie momma sounds like a bad idea to me. Whenever I have heard axis does bark/ whistle/ blow, it was always an alert, not "hey biggun, im over here."

It was between 88-90 yesterday afternoon 10 miles east of Fredericksburg. Sitting in shorts and t-shirt on the ground. Strong breeze made it bearable

They have a Bawl(roar) sound. Hard to describe but a friend of mine on Lanai and call them in, or at least put them at ease with the mouth call he does.

Alpha cubes laced with protein is a winning combination and keeps the turkeys away too.

steady source of water. They have entered western Comal county and I mainly see them or hear of land owners who are getting them with creeks or on the river with fresh flowing water.

Put alfalfa on top of your feeders with big rock to hold it down. Put on all feeders. Then place some bales of alfalfa on the ground leave them tied up. The axis along with other exotics will come.

Free range herd. Not the best pic but I happened to have this one handy. Date is wrong, the pic is a couple of weeks old. There is usually a bale of alfalfa on top of that bathtub. They love Alfalfa and protein
