I probably bought a few thousand rounds of .22 LR last summer at the Academy in Frisco for a lot less than .10 a round. I would have bought more but figured I would give someone else a chance.

The final straw for me was when they raised the price on their Pmags to like $99 or something stupid a few years back. Haven't set foot in the store or visited their website since.

It's ridiculous I know...the Frisco Academy never seems to have any available. I was just passing the info on...

Independence ammo never ran out when things got tough (independence firearms or ammunition to go.com). And they never really went up much either.

Places like cheaper than dirt were trying to rape people. I will always remember and never support them with my loose dollars again.

Academy doesn't carry everything but what they do stock is usually cheaper then any other big box sporting goods store.

Got lucky and got a 333 round box of 22 at academy the other night for less than 15 bucks! But they sold out in about 15 minutes and they said they hardly ever get that much 22 ammo in, and they only got 10 boxes of the 333 rounds

CTD is expensive. If someone buys this at those prices it just supports what they are doing. You couldn'tfind ammo at any price a year or so ago, now it is aavailable. More will be available. It isn't like they quit making it. When the supply picks up and they can't sell for $99 a box, it will return to $0.04 lime it should be.

And I told my son we couldn't shoot this weekend, down to my last box of 22. Have not been able to find it, and I'm not paying ridiculous prices.

If one large retailer would make folks give a copy of their DL for each purchase of 22 above a 50 rd box. Then limit that person to one or two boxes per month. Everybody could get some. All the tin foil hat guys wouldn't go as they would feel the government was tracking them. The retired and self employed d-nozzles who go to each store everyday and scoop it all up would get frustrated and go elsewhere.

Had a buddy in Cabellas a few weeks ago picking up a shotgun, he ordered and paid for previously. Called and said they just sat out a whole cart of 22 better hurry and get up there. As he knows I've been looking for weeks and it's always gone at any store I go to after work or on weekends. He didn't have any cash on him or would have bought me a box.

Drive 30 minutes trying to get there since they had a whole "cart full" and it was all gone. The ammo salesman, said "sorry our regular 22 hoarders hit the phones" and it was gone in 10 min.

                        Cmon already.

X2 BullyDog..Unless you can be at the Academy when the doors open the regular hoarders are at the door 4 mornings a week.I asked the guy behind the gun counter, why they don't wait until after 3:00 to put some on shelf.
I just don't understand why anyone would want 1,000 up on 1,000 of rounds
I shoot up couple 100 and just try to replace it for next time?

Most of the .22 LR I bought last summer was put out on Sunday morning. I don't know how they are doing it now.

who woulda thought 10 years ago that 22LR would be the hardest ammo to get your hands on??? (at a reasonable price)
