Cool, now you can replace it with one of the new variable duration camshafts with centrifugal advance hard rubber lobes.......the greater the RPM, the greater the lift you get........

No broken springs? Or anything else? Was the lifter in its proper location?
If it was me and all is good, I would find a tuner that can tune the thing, and then I would replace cam, springs, and lifters with something from comp cams. Then go have it tuned by a pro tuner. That will wake it up.

It was not making any strange noises until it started miss firing. But it now has new lifters and new cam. I would go with comp cams but I have a warranty. So I can't if I want to keep it.

You still have 7 more good cylinders, just cap it off and keep on trucking.

It should be. That is one of the MDS cylinders. It is prolly linked. Seen a few that have had a problem with the "oil control solenoid". It may be called something else at dodge. Anyway the solenoid is stuck in active mode or lifter gets stuck one of the two then all that pressure eventually finds a weak link and the trunnion bearing/wheel fails.
