I was thinking you can just weld fill it, then file it down.....what does the lifter(what's left of it) look like?

Ok, someone educate me on this - thinking it's from an engine, but not sure. What the heck is it? I'm no engine mechanic at all, minor stuff, sure, but interior things, no go for me.

its a cam shaft, and he either has a stuck valve or a stuck lifter.

It is the camshaft out of my 09 ram 5.7 hemi. The roller lifter locked up and then it worn down down the lobe on my cam
