Most have them early, but understand that they may have them committed to their regular customers...Most guides work with their bait suppliers and will tell them the day before how many they want the next morning...depending on their "haul" they might have croaker in the tank but tell you they can't sell them...or they might have extras early if it was a good night...One of my best friends is a guide and he uses one supplier and fishes at least 4 times a week...when we haul to Baffin with 4 fishing we will buy 20-24 dozen...so if the bait dealer is selling one guide 100 dozen a week he's not gonna sell a relative stranger croaker if he has to short his bread and butter guide...If I'm kayaking for trout (not fishing with my guide friend) I will just cheat and add my croaker order onto my guide friends order LOL

Ed, I'll try and ask around at work I know we have a few guys that enjoy fishing.

I'll see if I can get any updated reports, or what should he do, etc...etc.. Information from them.

These folks will atleast be upfront and honest about it.

that's where I'd be. you can wade the flats, but it's going to be hit or miss.

go to the surf, south of bob hall pier, or even hit the national seashore at the end of park road 22.

look for deep guts and bait jumping (and no weed).

summer time is a great time for trout in the surf, plus you can throw out some cut bait and catch redfish, sharks, rays, otters... you never know.

Mouth of OSO bay. Fish by the bridge on an incoming tide throwing carolina rigged live mullet/mud minnows/perch/shrimp. You should have success without the crowds of the jetties. If you decide to hit the jetties use live shrimp or croaker under a lemon rig. Rattle traps are working well there too. Good luck. PM me when you come in and I may be able to head out with ya'll.

I heard there was this place called "Deadman's Hole" that was accessable by truck.

Supposedly the trout are on fire in the Humble Channel at red Dot Pier.

I just checked the latest hotspot map and they have renamed it "DeadTRUCK Hole"
