We struck out yesterday too. Didnt hear a single gobble but did call in a hen when I was just trying to locate em. We were just standing there and she saw us right when I saw her. She made a pretty hasty retreat.

I guess. They have been tough up there. We've been on big groups of gobblers all season but they wouldn't commit.
This morning I had a group if 4 hang up about 30 yards behind the blind. They stayed there for a few minutes and then did a 180 and left.

We headed up to the lease late Thursday night and checked a couple of cameras set a some known strut zones. We set the blind up in the area that showed the birds to be visiting on a regular basis and went to bed with high hopes for Friday morning.
Friday morning rolled around and the birds were gobbling like crazy on the roost. Around 8:45 we had 3 hens and 6 toms working their way towards us. They circled around and after 15 minutes, decided to come in to the spread of DSD's. i sent a bullhead to the neck of the first one that presented a shot and i had my 2nd bird of the season.
Friday evening was uneventful. All that was killed was time and Keystone Light.
This morning my dad opted to take a chance and try a new spot. The gamble paid off and he released an arrow at 7:05. Unfortunately, he did not hit his mark and the turkey ran off missing a few feathers. I had a group of 4 come in but hung up around 30 yards. If only I was a shotgun hunter like Smart!
All in all, it was a good weekend and i think the birds are finally starting to cooperate.
