Two different animals. Black Fox squirrels are uncommon, but exist in pockets around the hardwoods.

You sure it isn't a panther?

Got a few black squirrels in the bottom lands of Choctaw and Dugdemona creeks in North Central Louisiana. They are some cool looking animals. I really don't want them shot on the farm anymore.

Plenty out at my uncles place in Edwards county. But some of them are very unique with red and gold markings on their upper body and head

We used to have a bunch of them at our place near Kerrville, then they all disappeared

I seen a feller one time had one mounted with an acorn in his arm doing the Heisman pose. Funniest **** thing I ever saw.

I've rarely seen them. We have two mounted, and I'm still trying to get one that I've been seeing

We saw quite a few when I was growing up in North Louisiana. Between Monroe and Alexandria.

They are not that rare. We have some black fox squirrel along Peach Creek south of College Station and in the Navasota River bottom around Sulpher Springs.

I've seen them over the years. There is on really big one that I usually see when I'm hunting on a certain part of my lease.

They are a somewhat rare coloration of fox squirrel that are color adapted to their surroundings. In Alabama and further east, you will see some fox squirrels with gray bodies and black heads and tails.

When I was a kid there were some white squirrels in orange at the stark house on 87 . I tried and tried to get my grand pa to stop so I Could shoot one . I've never killed a rock squirrel but some of the fox squirrels around here look like half grown house cats .
