    All Black Squirrel

I have a squirrel that lives under my deck that is completely black. I almost got a pic of him today, but he got away. My question is are all black squirrels rare? This one I completely black from head to tail.

They are rare when their internal temperature is 125 to 130 degrees F. Above that they are medium rare.

More black squirrels than red where I'm from in MS. Not rare at all....though may be rare to specific locations.

It is a Rock Squirrel (Spermophilus variegatus). They are found in the hill country and west texas.
