    Tri Hull Boats

Anybody have any experience with Tri Hull Boats? What kind of problems should I be looking for etc? Picked this thing up for 20 bucks and all I have ever owned are flat bottom aluminum boats and pirogues!

It's made by Invader out of Giddings TX.

Not much experience with them but looking at it I would guess it would be a rough but stable ride. Have fun and catch fish.

Yes. $20 bucks. Has a 1972 125 Johnson on it that works! No rust in the gas tank, but every piece of wood and upholstery in it will have to be replaced. Seemed like a good deal to me.

Dale, like how rough? My Uncle said he had a tri-hull Boston Whaler that was every bit as smooth as his deep v hull boats. But, this is the same Uncle that will tell you he shot a 12 point buck that fell in the creek and came up with a 5 .lbs bass on its antlers!

Also, anybody in the Flower Mound area that knows a ton about boats willing to come check it out and help me get on track getting her water ready? Otherwise, I am just going to start ripping out wood and replacing broke crap as I go.

The flat bottom would make it rough

It's been a very long time since I've been in one, I just remember odd ball waves at medium speeds catching that front end and feeling like you hit a brick wall....but punched through it. Teeth rattlers. It seems like crossing waves at an angle made it worse.

Very serviceable rig though, I'd keep the nose high in rough water.

I still remember the first time I got up on a slalom behind my granddad's old Fabuglass that my uncle got when Pawpaw passed away. Lake Texhoma and I was 9...I still remember how that boat smelled.

If a catamaran is good, a tri-hull should be awesome. Right?

Have absolutely no need for another boat but it's hard to resist the urge to say I'll give you $40 for it.

Congrats on the good snag though.

Had a 70something Higgscraft that was identical to your boat. Was awesome for anything, except rough water. Dale is spot on, will rattle your teeth when the waves are up, but will go thru em.

I had a 1971 Glastron. It was my Grandfather's boat that I inherited. The floor had some soft spots, and when I went to repair it, I found the stringers had rotten.

I wanted to get it repaired and re-power the boat. Unfortunately the cost to do it was more than I could get the boat insured for. It just wasn't worth it.

The boat itself was great in its day. I wish I could have kept it for ever.
