I know what you're talking about!

We experienced this when we stayed in Eastern Oregon but this may be the first time in 30 years I've ever been in a thunderstorm with freezing rain / sleet in Texas!

It was happening in Dallas yesterday afternoon. Heavy sleet and loud thunder.

It's thundering here in Pflugerville, but not sure the precipitation has turned to sleet yet.

It happened here in Cypress earlier tonight.

We were getting freezing rain with thunder and lightning.

Crazy. It's eased off but are expecting more overnight.

When I lived in Wisconsin we got thunder during a snowstorm one night. If you've never been in a snowstorm at night it's usually dead quiet.

Wifey just texted me a little bit ago saying it was sleeting (Montgomery) I'm stuck down here in TX City till 0500. Ready to get home. Hopefully the roads won't be too bad.
