Screw it into the bottom is what we have always done. That is if you are talking about making a feeder out of it.

They are not easy! The ones that I've put in my feeders I had to fight for a while but once I got them in, they were there for good.

I used foam spray to seal up the edges.

I put one in a 110 gallon feeder... That's 2 55gallon drums welded together.. If I can do that, you're good to go.

I layed it down and crawled in it.

Trim a little at a time till it does what you want then seal with foam. Wait for it to set up and trim off excess.

Wait until it is warmer outside. Leave the funnel in the sunshine to warm up and soften.

It wlll go into the barrel much easier then, and keep a nice tight fit.

That's frustrating for sure. I think I'd just cut the bottom of the barrel out and start over.

Put a 2 inch piece of pipe in center and go to work on it with a maul -----works every time

I did something similar, I used a sledge hammer but turned it over and used the butt end of the handle. Dropped the funnel in and let it drop down as far as it would go and then whopped it a few times with the handle in the center. It was pretty easy.

Buddy tried spray foam but didn't work, I have also done the same as you with sledge hammer.....but pipe was the way to go
