LOL Speaking of meme's, I saw one yesterday that said "Crossfit is the opposite of Fight Club because the # 1 rule of Crossfit is that you never shut the **** up about Crossfit."

Looking forward to tomorrow. Best scores so far from our gym, Crossfit Seven, are 306 for gents and 313 for the ladies. We had 3 girls over 255 which is a good start for our ladies

That will be a good score. I did a run through this evening and got 195. I think I'm only capable of 215 to 225. Going to hit it Monday after two days rest.

Close grip snatch is key and setting a pace is key. I came out unbroken for the first two rounds and was toast. My shoulders never burnt out and my grip stayed with me. It will be my lungs that limit me. Good luck every one. It's a gut check.

I did 322 tonight. 7 double unders into the 8th round. I will definitely redo it Monday and try and gobble up those other double unders. If I can get there a touch sooner I can get to 345 reps. Our 3 top guys in at Crossfit Conroe hit 365, 346 and 345... I was 4th male.

Wod wasn't horrible. I went 8-7 whole way except for mid rounds through some c&j in sets of 5-5-5

Mondays plan will be to hit it 8-7 power snatch the whole way. And not to rest, chalk or get water.

Great scores everyone. Keep up the hard work

How did the C&J feel compared to the power snatch?

Not that good to me. It threw me out of rhythm. I will stay 8-7 power snatch next time for as long as possible

The C&J takes way too long and expends the same energy. The only reason I see to go to it is to give your grip a rest but stay moving at the same time. With the weight being so light I found close grip snatch to be the right way for me. About half way between snatch grip and C&J grip.

I did 221 last night. Tried the C&J method right out of the shoot I hopes of saving legs. Did my first round unbroken on DU and C&J then got to the 2nd set of C&J and it felt like I was swinging a 10lb rope. Redoing it in about 2 hours and sticking with snatch the whole time.

What advantage does close-grip give you? Wider grip means shorter distance to travel up, no?

I started this last night but simply couldn't get DUs to click - I had been able to string as many as 9-10 together a few weeks ago, but couldn't get more than two in a row, and mostly just one at a time before getting frustrated and bailing on the WOD (I had a lot of negative energy going on yesterday anyway). I'll complete it today using singles x 2 and then keep working on DUs in hopes of being able to Rx before Monday's deadline.

Here is my take on it after doing it this morning - unless you are an elite athlete that can combine speed and efficiency then this WOD is 100% about efficiency and Not speed if you want your best score possible - before hand I timed 5 snatches and 5 clean n jerks ( the difference was less than 2 seconds) SO I was able to switch out doing snatches and clean n jerks and never even get close to burning out my shoulders/grip in order to keep my double unders efficient throughout. I broke the doubleunders up into 3 sets of 10 every round and never burned out my shoulders there either which allowed me enough energy and lungs to go hard for the last 2 minutes of the Workout. I did 5 rounds + 37 reps = 262 ( which was 8 reps short of my goal of 6 rds) but I was still happy with my score because as someone without the ability to do 30 unbroken double unders unless I am fresh I was still able to do every double under in the workout unbroken by breaking them up into sets of 10 with 2-3 seconds rest in between. I felt like I completed it as efficiently as possible and could not have attacked it any other way and gotten a better score.
