My Axis deer that I killed went 215. If it did not have horns I would never have gotten onto the 4 wheeler in one piece

      I've seen 2...
      1) buddy shot...weighed 340. Took 3 of us straining to get it on back of 4 wheeler. Hide on that sucker could have weighed 100lbs.

      2) another buddies dad shot....bent our cleaning station cross pole. Maxed our 380 lb scale out.

Both east Texas about 3 years apart but different leases.

Back when I had hog dogs I caught three one morning that were 327, 341, and 358. Now that is live weight at a buyers station. I have 4 other over 300 pounds. That is a total of 7 pigs over 300 pounds out of hundreds. They are very rare. Heck a 250 pounder is rare. That why when guys on here ask for weight guess I laugh at what people think is 250 or bigger. You don't realize how big that really is until you are calling friends to come help you load it up cause you can't even roll it over.

We were never able to get this one below but he's pretty heavy I think.
Wow, what a hoss. I sure did not know that they dressed the hogs before weighing in a hog contest, seems kinda stupid to me.

First off a 200# hog is not rare as I have killed a lot of them with my bow and I used to weigh a lot of them but now I don't unless I think it will be close or over 300. I will agree that 300+ is pretty rare and 350+ is very rare but they are out there. I run 18 feeders on 4 different properties all with cameras so I look at 1000's of pics of hogs a week and only see about a handful each year that I think will break 300. Killing one of them is a different story with a bow as they are extremely smart. I'm after one right now that will probably break 200.

I hunted behind dogs for years and have no idea how many hogs I have killed or tied. Shot plenty with bows, rifles, and anything else. I have never killed a hog that touched 300#. My kid did shoot a hog at about 325 yards several years ago. I was not able to put it on a pickup with another mans help. It took the two of us my wife and two kids to get it in the truck after I field dressed it. It was 262# dressed on the scale so I think it would have pushed 300. They are rare.
