Agree. I always carry mine by the string and have never had a problem.

I have an excuse for losing a deer this year, I carried my bow by the string for too many miles in New Mexico. It Never hurt the other 25 years of doing it.

I have a sling that I use 99% of the time. My stabilizer also folds over and makes a great "handle". String is fine, but I would think carrying with bare sweaty hands would cause a scent issue over time.

I use a bow sling simply because my hands are full of other stuff heading into and out of the stand, but I personally don't think I'd ever buy a bow that I felt needed to be "babied" and couldn't be carried by the string. That is the least of my worries when carrying my bow. I'm more worried about going through brush, hoisting it up and down from the tree stand etc. If my bow couldn't handle being carried around by the string then I wouldn't own it.

I carry by the string all the time. Never had a problem. In my mind there better not be a problem with it, all the money I have spent on bows, they should be durable enough to handle it.

Get a cobra knuckle. It attaches your stabilizer to the bow and you can unscrew it and flip your stabilizer up and use it as a carrying handle.

Shooting a longbow that is very light, and carry by the string or riser. Not problems. Also the string is a twist sting, so again no problems, as I shoot instinctively.

I have carried my bow by the string at times and never had a problem, but I still am a little concerned when it is hot, my hands are sweating, and I may be rubbing the wax off of the string. There are ingredients in sweat that will degrade just about any material, so, if you have another option, don't carry it by the string.
