Where to get a Wireless meat thermometer around Austin

With all the BBQ’ing going on lately…I figure I need to get a wireless digital thermometer.

Anyone know of a local place around Austin/Georgetown to get one. Looks as though Maverack is a good one.

If no place local, guess I can get one off Amazon.

    Thanx,

I use the Maverick ET-732 and love it. If you can't find it locally Amazon has a great price on it.

Here is me watching TV in the AC last summer monitoring the smoker midday..

Yes....and a mount for the smoker probe.....

DO NOT PUT THE PROBES IN WATER!! Just scrape and wash the ends. The place where the wire meat the probes should not get wet for optimal probe life.

Glad yours has worked Smart. I went to buy one based on this thread until I started reading the reviews. Seems like at least half have problems with the meat probe. I mean like hundreds of bad reviews on Amazon.

I read something about the bad reviews... was told that the probes had to be pushed into the transmitters pretty hard for them to work.

Wonder if Gander Mountain carries the Maverick. Think I'll swing by tomorrow at lunch.

I know a lot of folks that are having success with fhem(maverick) .I've had mine for a bit undef a year with no problems besides shutting an offsef smoker door on one of the probe cables. mine is still running the original batteries.

Op, check out bbq mercentiles on lamar. good folks, good products..tell them you are on a bbq competition team for 10% off

I'm two years in with over 40 cooks on them and I don't soak them in water to clean them. It's well known with all of electronic temp probes if you get then dunked they will go bad. I'd be willing to bet that with the idiots out there, most are doing just that. I just pull them out of the sides of the transmitter, scrape off the gunk with a knife and wipe them down with a wet rag.

Not at all here..slide in easily and they are on. . I'm not trying to get you to buy one, I'm just telling you it's just a simple push in here.

Good luck with whatever you chose.
